I worked with Carlos in the 80's at EMS Station 46, Elmhurst Hospital.
On 9/11/01 I was with 3 of my Brother Court Officers when we passed Carlos in the concourse of the Trade Center complex only moments before Tower 2 collapsed. Carlos and I did a double take as we passed. I had not seen Carlos since I left EMS in 1987. I found out the next day that he was missing and I knew it wasnt good.
The 3 Court Officers I was with perished that day. All those brave souls who died that day were heroes. Not because they died, because of the way they lived. They all made a difference that day and every day. May God bless you Carlos, Captain Harry Thompson, Senior Court Officers Mitch Wallace and Tommy Jergens and the 343 FDNY, 37 PAPD, and 23 NYPD.
You all lived a life well lived. Thank you for making the world a better place!
